UK Charities - child charity UK
|
If you are looking specifically
for a child charity in the UK,
follow the apporpriate links on this page. We are working with both the
NSPCC and Childline in the UK as well as other international charities
that support children.
|
One children's charity in great
acute need of donations in the UK is Childline. At the present time, Childline is unable
to meet the current need in terms of volumes of calls from children in
distress who may be suject to violence, abuse or neglect. Even a small
once off or monthly donation would be much appreciated. Please find out
a little more here. |
A national very attached to its
pets, the UK likes to give to animal charity. One such, indeed the
biggest in the UK, is the PDSA. Through the
PDSA, you can sponsor an animal, give a once off donation or take out
pet insurance in support of the charity. Whtaever you decide, you can
help an animal without a large outlay. |
Perhaps the most meaningful way
to become involved in giving to charity for some people is to spopnsor
a child. Action Aid
are one of UK's biggest child sponsorship charites. It doesn't take a
lot, no more than perhaps £2-5/month, to really make a big
difference to a child's life. |
One of the UK's children's
charities NSPCC has embarked on
a dynamic programme to raise awareness of child abuse and aims to do
its part in eradicating child abuse, wherever it occurs. This work can
be labour-intensive, but in its work with children in the country,
there are few if any more worthwhile children's charities in the UK. |
When it comes to the time to
give to charity, there can
be no better causes than those outlined by our UK website. Whether you
are interested in giving to a children's charity, international relief,
animals or a cancer charity, peruse and decide. |
The British Red Cross is doing
important work across the world both for disaster relief following
international natural disasters and on the longer term with food
provision programmes in Africa and across the world. They are always
looking for additional funding to broaden the scope of thier important
work. The Red Cross
has a strong track record, and is currently undertaking an ambitious
project across 13 African countries, aimed at helping over 2 million
people. |
When you are considering sponsor
child work,
you may wish to consider working with a UK charity. There are several
that do this work, including ActionAid. |
